São Tomé is Portuguese for Saint Thomas, one of the 12 apostles. “Beloved” orange chocolate might be as holy to Swedes as São Tomé is to a believing islander. One thing’s for sure: robust, dark cocoa grown in this warm, West African island’s volcanic soil, united with the zesty flavour of orange rind, is something even a “doubting Thomas” would say yes to.
